Xuan Thuy National Park in Nam Dinh province is the first and a key Ramsar site in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, designated in 1989 and also part of the Red River Delta Biosphere Reserve. Although often associated with Ninh Binh due to its location near the province, it is geographically located in Nam Dinh province, situated at the mouth of the Red River. It is an important wetland ecosystem that serves as a crucial habitat for migratory birds and a center for biodiversity conservation.
