Freddy's Homestead is a Wildlife Sanctuary registered with The Humane Society International since 2022. It is named in memory of my late son Christopher, whose nickname is Freddy. He loved nature very much, especially raptors. I have planted hundreds of plants here since our arrival in 2012. It's mix of native and non-native plants in collections that I brought up from Perth. It includes different agaves, aloes, yuccas cacti, euphorbias, sansevierias, other succulents in ground and in pots, potted fruit trees and herbs, plus natives like gum trees, tea trees, fanflowers, eremophilas, grevilleas, figs, bottlebrushes, bottle trees, and many more. All have their spaces in groups or rows. Many are home-grown from seeds or cuttings, or bought in from various sources. The wildlife is diverse and ever increasing in species and numbers. QuestaGame is one way of documenting who lives here or wanders through. It is also an attempt to protect this space for all life forms here forever. My parents taught me about nature. My dad knows a lot about animals and fungi, my mum taught us about plants back home in Germany. I continued my learning here since arriving in WA in 1988. I thrive on identifying every new being, plant, animal fungus or otherwise. I love the space and life we've got here now.
